The Areas of Work

There are three areas to our Real Time Strategic Change approach:

  • Scoping Possibilities;
  • Developing and Aligning Leadership; and,
  • Creating Organization-Wide Change

You and your organization will do business in new ways by following these areas, Doing business in new ways will deliver new – and better – results.

Scoping Possibilities

Scoping is not a “one off” activity. It’s ongoing work that focuses plans and creates new paths moving forward. Although the smallest cog in the diagram it turns the most often and is the engine of transformation.

Deliverables from this phase:

  • A clear purpose and outcomes
  • Ways you can integrate this effort with other work in the organization
  • Leverage points that will accelerate change
  • A roadmap with key events, measures, milestones, and responsibilities

Developing and Aligning Leadership

We often get asked, “How many people should be included in this phase?”
It’s not about a number. It’s about getting the right people doing the right work.
The question we’ll be asking: “Who needs to provide the leadership required for this effort to succeed?”
Sometimes the right people are the senior leadership team. In other cases you’ll need to engage both formal and informal leaders. One company we worked with had 300 people at their leadership alignment event.

Deliverables from this phase:

  • Agreement on why change is needed
  • Clarity about your future direction
  • Commitment to make needed changes
  • Confident leaders able to provide the leadership required

Creating Organization-Wide Congruence

You need to engage people throughout your organization for change to stick. We own what we help create. That’s why large group roll-up-your-sleeves working sessions of are a cornerstone of this phase. The more people involved in this phase, the faster change takes hold. Numbers aren’t a problem. We regularly work with groups of 300-500 and have led meetings of as many as 2,200 people.

Creating organization-wide congruence is about engaging your entire organization in developing a solid fit between your:

  • Internal and external realities,
  • Vision for the future,
  • Strategies and plans,
  • Systems, structures and processes, and
  • Daily work

Deliverables from this phase:

  • Accomplishing your purpose and outcomes
  • Teaming across traditional silos
  • Faster and better ways of doing business
