I first met Geoff about fifteen years ago when he came to Ann Arbor as part of our Dannemiller Tyson Associates "Masters Series on Organizational Change." I had the good fortune to be Geoff's host while he was with us. As curious then as I am now, Geoff hung in there with me as I peppered him with consulting questions throughout a nice Thai dinner.
With Extraordinary Groups, Geoff adds to his list of books including The Consultant's Calling, Your Signature Path, and Getting Things Done When You Are Not In Charge. Geoff and his co-author Kathleen Ryan are also founding members of the Community Consulting Partnership. The Partnership's work is to train volunteers to conduct organization development consultations for not-for-profit organizations in the Seattle area. Enjoy my conversation with Geoff as he tells his stories of how the book came into being and how it can help any group become extraordinary -- from a platoon in Iraq to a project team in your organization.
